Rootvij Kadakia Memorial Cricket Match

Rootvij loved to play cricket and used to play in a cricket league. He was a fierce competitor and was a committed team player. His colleagues at Red Energy organized a memorial cricket match on 19th April 2009 to celebrate Rootvij’s passion for cricket.

Everyone at Red Energy was invited to participate in the event. There was so much response, that instead of 2 teams and 1 match; we ended up with 4 teams and 2 T20 matches!! Both the matches were very competitive and played in the right spirit of the game.

We had more than 60 people who came in to enjoy the 2 matches. Of course, a cricket match on an empty stomach is a big NO-NO and a grand BBQ was organised to keep the energy levels high for the players and the supporters. The matches started at 10am and we finished at 5pm.

After the completion of both the matches, the Kadakia family presented all the players, umpires and supporters with a medal. A Rootvij Kadakia Memorial trophy was presented to Red Energy by the Kadakia family as well.

A BIG Thank You to everyone at Red Energy for organizing such a fun filled day. It was truly a celebration of Rootvij’s love for the game.
